When I've lost my patience or my temper gone bad, I always remind myself of these words of wisdom quoted by two of my all-time favourite yogis;
'Have patience, have compassion towards others; be calm and take time in whatever you do.'
'Life is like a suitcase and the things you put inside are your problems. The more you put things in your suitcase, the heavier it becomes. In the end, you will have to carry that extra load wherever you go. If you want to live at peace, please lessen the 'things' in your 'suitcase'. Forgive, learn from your mistakes and learn to forget. Just like a suitcase, your life will be surprisingly 'lighter' when you carry less problems with you.'
By remembering these words, I'm always able to come back to my senses.
That's how yoga has changed my life so far and I'm very grateful for that. And of course, thanks to yoga too, I've now gained my flexibility. It's not as great as other yoga regulars yet, but I'll get there I'm sure.
