Mean Girls & Mean Boys

J: How's your Kafa today?
N: Okay. *smile*
J: Did you take off your shoes just now? *eyeing her shoes*
N: Yep. *wriggling her shoes off in the car*
J: NADIA, what is that?! *pointing at N's yellowish dirty socks*
N: Owh, I stepped on ice cream. It was on the floor and I didn't see it.
J: 'Tis ok. Nanti balik tukar stokin eh.
N: Ok! *smiling wide*
J: What did you do at your school huh? You've got smudges on your face. *touching N's cheek*
N: Oh this? A naughty boy did it.

J: What?!
N: A boy used a board duster and put it on my face, my kerudung and my baju kurung, until it's dirty like this.
J: Didn't your ustazah see it?
N: It was ustaz's class. He didn't see it cause he was paying attention to another children.
J: Didn't you tell ustaz about that boy?
N: No.
J: Did you ask the boy to stop?
N: I did, but he didn't listen. That boy is VERY naughty.
*J thinking: Budak mana la yang macam hantu sangat nih*
J: Who did you sit with at Kafa just now?
N: I sat next to a very naughty girl.*laughed*
J: Hah, naughty jugak? What did she do to you?
N: She told me I'm like a cow and have no brain.*smiling still*
J: She said it Malay or in English?*certainly NOT smiling*
N: English.
*J thinking: Budak mana la yang kerek sangat nih*
J: Are you happy at Kafa, sayang?
N: No.. *looks slightly sad*
J: It's ok Nadia, it's only your third day. How did Yasmin do? (Yasmin is her ex-kindie-mate and her SKTM-mate, one of her close friends)
N: Yasmin is ok. Everybody' being friendly to Yasmin but not me. I just don't know why. *looks confuse*
J: *sigh*.. It's ok Nadia, give it another week ok? Yasmin knows most of the students because this is her second week already. You however just joined them recently. If things are not getting better, I'll take you out of that school. We learn Iqra' & Jawi somewhere else.
N: Ok mama. *smile*

***********************************************************

In my humble opinion, if kids that age can be so mean and bad, there must be something really wrong with their family institution which somehow screw their brains out and moulding them to be that satanic. How can a seven year old be so horrible and call others a cow (or worse)? Or dirtying others with board duster right under their teachers' noses? Nadia was so innocent, she was smiling all the way while narrating her story to me. I was upset, I felt like dialing her ustazah's number right then and there and complaint about the mean little devils!

I personally detest bully and I don't believe in bully. Bully is an act of an inferior being trying to potray how strong he or she is when in actual fact he or she is not. I pray that Nadia make some friends at the Kafa real soon. Or else, I'll have to stick to my stereotype of judging low-cost / medium-cost apartment kids: They are just bunch of rowdy, spoilt, mean and rude brats.

Give her some times to get along with other kids and at the same time monitor hows the progress. If there is no positive changes, you might consider sending her to a private centre to learn jawi & iqra. Just be patient and be strong for a while yeah.

merah: ye lah... zaman kita dulu lain. zaman skarang lain la pulak. dulu kita rasa kita la budak paling nakal kat skolah. cuba kalo kita attend skolah zaman sekarang, pasti kita akan jadi budak paling poyo & alim amongst all!

bro: yep. i'm giving her time to adjust herself at d skool. letting her mix around with the kids and learn to survive (if she can). yesterday (12/01/10), she seemed happy and said that the naughty girl decided to be nice to her. she even did her jawi homework in such a short time with real nice handwriting! way to go Nadia! woot! :D
